We advance our knowledge - at the Dr. Spang Akademie
When a company has its own training academy, it is an investment in the future. The Dr. Spang Akademie provides the framework within Dr. Spang GmbH for the internal professional development of all employees. In addition to internal events and lectures, in which the experience and knowledge of our employees is incorporated, external (in-house) training courses, specialist lectures and seminars are also organised and held. The aim is to pass on this knowledge to our employees and external interested parties at regular training events. The Dr. Spang Akademie has become an integral part of the internal company structures in recent years and is constantly evolving in terms of organisation and content.
In recent years, we have organised an average of around 20 specialist lectures per year at the Dr. Spang Akademie. These are made up of lecture series, such as our series on geotechnical reports or training regarding contaminated sites and environmental issues, specialised technical and project lectures, as well as events in the areas of sports and nutritional sciences and health management, to name but a few. In-house training courses are also organised on topics such as QGIS workshops and project weeks, verification management with GGU programmes, further training for field staff and draughtsmen and MS Office training courses.
The main venue is our headquarters in Witten, North Rhine-Westphalia. In order to effectively integrate our branches throughout Germany as well as our Austrian branch, great importance is attached to a hybrid participation option for the event formats.
Sharing expert knowledge
As the central office, the Dr. Spang Akademie is responsible for the organisation, planning and coordination of events aimed at sharing knowledge. Compiling, preparing and communicating technical topics is a great benefit for everyone in the company. The internal events are recorded digitally and are available to everyone afterwards. As a result, an internal knowledge database is created, which is also a valuable resource for new colleagues at Dr. Spang GmbH. An internal calendar of events keeps everyone informed about what the Dr. Spang Akademie has to offer at all times. In addition, many seminars and lectures offer the opportunity to obtain further training credits recognised by the Chamber of Engineers of construction in North Rhine-Westphalia.
By sharing knowledge across departments, Dr. Spang GmbH fosters open communication that benefits everyone in the company. This clearly reflects the management's appreciation of its employees. Investing in further training through the Dr. Spang Akademie naturally also pays off for the entire company.
